Welcome to Seamist Fishing Charters Kaikoura

We operate Full & Half day fishing charters from Kaikoura located on the East Coast of the South Island of New Zealand. Kaikoura is well known to be one of the best fishing spots in New Zealand not only for sports & hobby fisherman but also for commercial fishing. All the gear you need is supplied and any fish you catch will be filleted and bagged for you ready to take home.

The Skipper

The Owner and Skipper is Peter Cleall who has been commercial fishing in this area for the past twenty years and has a vast knowledge of the local area and fishing spots. He has been a charter operator for over 4 years, using his commercial fishing expertise to guide him to some of the best fishing spots in New Zealand. Having also fished a large amount of the West Coast of New Zealand, he has a vast knowledge of fish species and their habits, for everything from crayfish to tuna.

The Fishing Vessel

The Seafarer II is a 50ft, (15m) commercial charter and fishing vessel operating in Kaikoura. The Seafarer II has a fully enclosed cabin as well as outside coverings to ensure passenger comfort and safety. Surveyed for up to 20 passengers the Seafarer II is able to cater to larger groups with ample space to move.
